Hints for Downloading Binaries
To download a binary file (such as one of our solvers), you want
your WWW browser to save the next link to disk instead of displaying
it. Some browsers will automatically detect binary files, but if
yours doesn't, follow the following tip according to the browser you're
using:
- In Mosaic, this
is done via the Options menu, by selecting "Load to Local Disk".
- In Netscape the next link can be saved to your disk by
selecting "Save As..." from the File menu or placing the mouse over the
link and pressing the second (or third if you have a three button
mouse) button and selecting "Save Link As...".
- Other web browsers have some variations on these ideas to
accomplish the same thing.
After doing that, click on the binary file link again, select destination
in the dialog box that will pop up, and you are all set.
If you get an error message or this doesn't help, you should try again
a little while later, in case we are working on the WWW server or
its contents. If absolutely nothing works, send e-mail to
webmaster@cirl.uoregon.edu and you'll get the binaries via
e-mail.
